Connecting ChatGPT (Web) to Delve

ChatGPT’s interface and connector features change regularly; this page is up to date as of October 2025, but you may notice small UI differences from what’s described here.

ChatGPT supports two different methods of using custom connectors depending on your plan and settings. We’ll call these “Limited access” and “Developer mode” to minimize confusion.

Connecting Delve to ChatGPT: Limited Access

“Limited access” is the standard connector workflow available within ChatGPT; you can only take a very small set of read-only actions via custom connectors like Delve - e.g. listing your teams or coverage. This minimizes the risks of using untrusted connectors, but you can’t perform most actions within Delve (advanced search, tracking articles, etc).

Connecting Delve to ChatGPT: Developer Mode

“Developer mode” is an advanced mode allowing full access to connectors like Delve, similar to what Claude and other AI tools allow. The risks of using untrusted connectors are higher, but you can perform any actions that the Delve connector provides.

Depending on which plan you’re using, you may have access to one or both of these options:
